4 Ways to Align Your Business and Soul’s Work with Your Cycle

Your body carries her own rhythm. One that shifts with your mood and the moment.

But even though we’re cyclical beings, we often try to fit our work into a linear schedule, and wonder why we feel frustrated and depleted at different times of the month.

We forget that we’re a part of nature, and just like the moon waxes and wanes, and the seasons come and go, our energy does too.

So, what is cycle syncing? When it comes to your soul’s work, cycle syncing means aligning your spiritual, healing, creative and business tasks with your body’s four hormonal phases: the menstrual phase, the follicular phase, the ovulation phase, and the luteal phase.

By attuning with your body’s rhythms, you can use the wisdom of your cycle to help you to fulfil your soul’s purpose and find more ease, harmony and joy in your life’s work.

If you’ve been constantly trying to battle with a lack of motivation, procrastination or burnout, may this guide help you slow down and return to the rhythm that’s always been true.

What Cycle Syncing Taught Me About Worthiness and Productivity

Like most of us, I have deep wounds around worthiness and productivity. Even when I started my spiritual business, I brought old patterns with me: believing that I could only earn love, success, and recognition by working as hard (or harder) than everyone else.

Some weeks I was a productivity queen, but others, especially when my time of the month would come, I just didn’t want to get it together to get on a coaching call or even write an email.

It was exhausting.

Years (and a lot of learning later), I started cycle syncingwith my calendar, planning my soul’s work around my period, and the most beautiful things happened:

  • I got more done in less time and I felt excited about my work again.

  • I leaned more into my creativity and inspiration.

  • Life flowed with more ease and joy.

  • Rest deepened my spiritual connection.

  • My nervous system was more regulated and I felt calm.

  • I could be present for both my work and my family.

Cycle syncingisn’t about creating the "perfect" schedule for the sake of productivity, it's about shifting into alignment with your inner rhythms and natural energy which makes a huge difference in how you feel and show up in the world.

A Cycle Syncing Guide for Your Soul’s Work

Each month, as you move through the four hormonal phases, you can see your purpose flowing through a natural rhythm of expansion and contraction as it’s envisioned (menstrual), shaped (follicular), manifested (ovulation), and integrated (luteal).

A gentle note: Your own cycle may run shorter or longer than 28 days so these ranges for each phase are a starting map rather than a fixed rule. You might find it helpful to track your own cycle so that you can start to tap into your body’s unique rhythm and align your workflow.

Days 1 - 5: The Menstrual Phase (Inner Winter) - REFLECT

Cycle syncing during the menstrual phase is about honouring the natural pull to go inwards, rest and slow down. It makes me think of the concept of pratyahara in yoga, where we withdraw our senses and distill the outer world..

Like winter, our energy is low and quiet, and just like seeds, we need the darkness, or to be in the fertile void, where nothing seems like it’s really happening, but so much magic is unravelling below the surface.

This makes it a great time to centre your soul’s work around reflection, dreaming and ideating, especially as high delta brainwave activity can increase creativity and flow.

You might also find that your connection to your intuition is stronger on your period. Rituals like journalling and meditating can help you slow down, listen to your inner truth and audit anything that drained your energy the previous month.

Since this phase is about shedding the endometrium (the lining of the uterus) to prepare for a clear cycle ahead, it’s also a gentle invitation to reflect and release anything that’s no longer in alignment with your soul’s purpose.

Days 6-14: The Follicular Phase (Inner Spring) - VISION

Cycle syncing during the follicular phase is about honouring the rise of inspiration and the desire to create.
Like Spring, our energy is fresh and optimistic which makes it a beautiful time to harness the rising energy to plan new projects, brainstorm creative ideas for your business or life, and set intentions that are aligned with your soul’s purpose.

This is where soul meets strategy as you shape your vision and prepare to take outward action to fulfil your purpose in the next phase of your cycle.

Days 15-17: The Ovulation Phase (Inner Summer) - SHINE

Cycle syncing during the ovulation phase of your cycle is about honouring your energy when it’s naturally highest.

Like summer, our energy is bright and expansive, and this is when we feel the most confident which makes it a great time for visibility, presence and letting your inner light truly shine.

You’ll likely feel connected and expressive so you can embrace this energy to share your soul’s voice, host events, and launch your gifts into the world. You might feel called to be more social, collaborate or teach. This can be the best time to do client-facing work, or record podcasts, interviews, or videos. As beta brain wave activity is high, your brain is sharp and alert, so you can be incredibly productive.

This type of work often demands a lot of our energy, so by scheduling those outward-facing tasks at this time, we can allow our inner rhythm to fortify us.

This is where our soul’s purpose is made manifest.

Days 18-28: The Luteal Phase (Inner Autumn) - GROUND

Cycle syncing during the luteal phase is about honouring your wavering energy as it ebbs and flows.

Like Autumn, you might feel your energy turn a little bit deeper inwards, with a focus on nesting and winding down. This can be one of the cosiest phases of your cycle. That makes it a great time to focus on editing, organising, finishing up tasks, closing out projects, refining your work, grounding your energy, and allowing the creativity to flow for manifestation.

You’re preparing your mind and body to transition into rest.

This is a sacred time of integration and completion before the cycle begins again, and offers an opportunity for you to deepen your connection with your purpose.

Divine Timing and Our Dharma (Soul’s Purpose)

Doing our soul’s work invites in the presence of a divine source, but we still have to work with our human energy here on earth.

This reminds me that there’s divine timing for each task.

Each week, I have a little CEO ritual where I check in with my energy. I note what stage I’m at in my cycle and make sure my soul work is aligned. If I can, I move things around, and if not, I extend myself a little grace and more time to do things. If you’d like to try this, copy and paste it into your project management system, or write it in your paper planner or journal:

✨ Energy Check-In:

  • Time in cycle:

  • Energy level for week:

  • Business focus:

  • Self-care rituals:

Think of this as a rhythm to return to.

It’s not a rigid practice.

It’s not about perfection.

It’s about presence

Let yourself soften into the rhythm that’s already there. Let your body remind you when to move and when to rest. Let your inner wisdom show you when to plant and when to release. And perhaps most importantly, let this be a practice of remembering, of returning to the rhythm that’s always been true.
